We had a blast exploring the Rambla of Montevideo and Puerto de Montevideo. The views were so epic, it was like something out of a movie! We had the best time chilling by the water, taking pics and just enjoying the vibes. Definitely a must-do if you're young and looking for some adventure!
The only thing we wished for was a bit more nightlife around the hostel. We're young and love to party, so having some cool bars or clubs nearby would have been the cherry on top of our trip.

The value for money at this hostel was unbelievable, especially considering the current situation. The room was comfortable and clean, with spacious lockers underneath the beds. The location was great, within walking distance of the bus station and the beach. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, even letting me use their mobile phone when I needed to make a call.
The breakfast selection could have been better, with more variety and options available.

I got great value for my money at this hostel. The room may have been crowded, but the lobby was nice and the WiFi was excellent. Plus, the staff, especially Karina and Carolina, were incredibly helpful and friendly. They made my stay even more enjoyable.
The breakfast could have been better. Maybe they could have added more options or variety to make it more satisfying.

Clean, comfortable dorms with spacious lockers. Helpful staff, especially the reception lady who assisted with phone calls and recommendations. Breakfast included fresh fruit, cereal, and toast. Dorms were surprisingly quiet despite facing the main road. Limited breakfast options, but sufficient.

Great staff, especially the evening staff who went out of their way to be helpful.
Basic breakfast and outdated rooms that could use some updating.

Enjoyed exploring the historic district, stuffing my face at the food market, and getting tips from the hostel staff on what to see. The rooftop terrace was a nice spot to relax and have a drink.
I was delighted by the low ceilings in the rooms. It was such a pleasant surprise to have to hunch over like a troll.

The staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly and made me feel right at home. The hostel itself was mind-blowing, with its modern, spacious and clean rooms. The breakfast was jaw-droppingly delicious, better than any other hostel I've stayed in. The wi-fi was super fast and reliable. The location, although not convenient for sightseeing, was a short walk from the bus terminal which was convenient for my early morning departure. Plus, they had a lift, which was a lifesaver for my heavy suitcase. an unforgettable stay!

The staff were super cool and welcoming, and the hostel itself was modern, spacious, and clean. Plus, the breakfast was way better than any other hostel I've been to. We had a blast hanging out on the rooftop patio and meeting people from all over the world. And the best part? The hostel is located really close to the bus terminal, so it was super convenient for us to explore Montevideo and check out the Rambla and Puerto de Montevideo. Highly recommend it!
If I had to pick one thing, it would be that the hostel could have had more fun activities for young party-goers like us. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time socializing and meeting people, but it would have been even better if the hostel organized some cool events or parties.

The rooms in Che Lagarto Hostel Montevideo are absolutely awesome! They have either private or shared bathrooms, which are super convenient. The tranquil environment of the hostel makes me feel relaxed and at ease. Plus, the free WiFi in all guestrooms is a big bonus for someone like me who loves to stay connected.
I personally liked everything about the hostel, but some might find the shared bathrooms a little less appealing.

I recently stayed at Che Lagarto Hostel and had a fantastic experience. I was only in town for one night before heading to the airport, and the hostel's convenient location made it the perfect choice. It's just a short walk from the bus station, making it great for arrivals, and there are also nearby options for catching an Uber, which saved me money. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, with some even speaking English. The hostel itself was spotlessly clean, and the room was spacious with great WiFi. The hot showers were a welcome bonus. And let's talk about breakfast - it was absolutely wonderful! A delicious spread of fresh fruit, juices, cake, toast, and cereals. I couldn't have asked for a better stay!
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.
